At BeFrank, we believe in fair pensions. That is why we invest as sustainably as possible. We invest your pension capital in businesses that treat people and the environment with respect. We explain how that works below.
At BeFrank, you can choose between three different forms of investment: Passive, Active and Sustainable. We also call these our ‘lifecycles’.
With all three lifecycles, we reduce your investment risk as you come closer to your retirement date. Moreover, we always invest as sustainably as possible.
Here are our sustainable choices by lifecycle:
1. Passive Lifecycle
We only invest in companies that we believe help build a better world. These organisations comply with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact. We do not invest in the tobacco industry or emerging countries that do not have established governance.
2. Active Lifecycle
In the Active Lifecycle, we go a step further. In addition to the exclusions we already apply in the Passive Lifecycle, sustainability criteria are also a factor when it comes to finding investments that yield better long-term returns than the market.
3. Sustainable Lifecycle
It’s in the name: our Sustainable Lifecycle is our most sustainable form of investment. We invest exclusively in companies, governments and organisations that have demonstrated their positive impact on the world.
Putting pressure on companies through voting and engagement
‘Voting’ and ‘engagement’ are terms you hear frequently in the context of investing. But what exactly do these terms mean?
- Voting is using your right to vote during shareholder meetings.
- Engagement involves holding companies to account for their behaviour and activities.
If necessary, our investment managers use these means to put pressure on companies. This has proved to be quite effective.
Making an impact with your pension
Your personal pension page shows you how we are investing your pension capital. Curious about how a different form of investment will affect your expected pension? You can also check this quickly and easily through your personal pension page.
Your pension, your choice
In addition to your form of investment, you can choose a risk profile. This concerns how much investment risk you wish to take. Whatever you decide, nothing is set in stone. You can always change your decision. Find out which pension choices you can make yourself.
