BeFrank winner PensioenWegwijzer 2024
13 November 2024
BeFrank won the PensioenWegwijzer 2024 jury prize with the Survivor’s Pension Assistance. This prize is awarded to an organisation in the financial sector with the most innovative practical example to make pension choices easier.
Every year, an independent jury awards the PensioenWegwijzer on behalf of Wijzer in Geldzaken (an initiative of the Ministry of Finance). This takes place during the Pensioen3daagse. The four finalists presented their entries during a pitch. These were assessed by the jury, which consisted of behavioural scientists and professionals, for form and proven effectiveness on choice behaviour. The jury called the approach “cross-issue by making the names of surviving dependants more explicit” and praised the initiative for making the future tangible.
Choice guidance for surviving dependants’ pension
The Survivor’s Pension Assistance provides an overview of all arrangements made by the employer for the surviving dependants and the additional choices the participants can make themselves. The effect is also shown if a combination of insurance policies is chosen. By introducing the first names of the partner and children, it becomes clear what the benefit per family member will be. The toolanticipates a new legal standard to allow participants to make choices in an adequate manner: choice guidance.
Jan Hein Rhebergen, Commercial Director of BeFrank:
“We are extremely proud of this award. Under the Future of Pensions Act, the surviving dependants’ pension will also change. That is why we have developed a tool to provide participants with the best possible guidance on the choices that arise here. This not only provides insight into what has been arranged, but also allows you to determine what is needed for your family. And by making it personal, it also becomes tangible. In doing so, we are consistently implementing our mission to bring pensions closer to people.”
